Flowers Ashes Blood
A project concepted by my friend Julia Haines for her Fibers and Materials Studies major in college. Each garment represented either flowers, ashes, or blood. I was tasked with helping Julia immortalize her vision by photographing her ethereal garments. The mixture of our chosen sound (Lana Del Rey) and light (just after dawn) made for the perfect concoction needed to create a diffused, mystical world.

Repetition
There’s beauty and sorrow in the repetition of an object. The mind is tricked into satisfaction yet something about the monotony of your surroundings gives you a sense of melancholia. I am intrigued by how looking at something can evoke certain emotions and draw up old experiences. This series was shot in a sunny, picturesque neighborhood, but each individual photo evokes a certain sadness.
